The only code the car throws is for the stupid cam sensor. I got the car back a week ago and it ran perfect until yesterday, on the freeway, going 65+ mph and the check engine light comes and it started stalling out!! Has anyone experienced this? I do not want to spend the 600+ for the computer if this is not the problem. He said that if it doesn't work, the only other option is to replace the computer ($600+). Mechanic had car for a month and put a magnet on the cam sensor ($120). Car drove great for couple months and then it started again. It continued to happen and when I took it in w/ light on I was told it was the cam sensor. I took it in and mechanic wasnt able to find anything wrong with it (light goes off after 3 starts).
I pulled over and turn car off, when I started it again it ran fine (light was still on). It would only happen when I first started driving, once I got up to 2,000 rpm the check engine light would come on and it felt like it was going to stall out. Never had any problems with it until August of last year. When I got the car in 2008 it had 20,000 miles on it and was like new. I went with the same car cuz I loved my old neon and never had any problems in the 2 years that I owned it. Bought this car used after my previous neon was stolen.
